Proton eMas 7 open for booking, from RM120k est – EV’s interior shown for first time at ACE, come see it!

Proton’s first production EV is now open for booking nationwide, from RM120,000 estimated! The national carmaker has unveiled the Proton eMas 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7) on the first day of the paultan.org Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2024 at the Setia City Convention Centre, and the interior is open to the public for the first time. Free entry, so come and see it for yourself.
On top of that very attractive RM120k estimated starting price (this is a larger and much more modern SUV than the X70), Proton has announced a ‘Pioneer Privilege Deal’ that comes with a RM500 rebate and a gift pack worth RM1,000. This offer is valid from today till the eMas 7’s launch date, which has been confirmed to be sometime in December (possibly at KLIMS 2024). The booking fee is RM500.
Price/package and specs aside (more on this below), Proton also announced the launch of the ‘e.MAS App’ at ACE 2024. The app is described as a ‘dynamic platform designed to enhance the user experience from booking through ownership’. The app simplifies managing vehicle booking, scheduling services and accessing Malaysia’s EV charging network. This sounds like a Proton version of the Hello smart app, which is a good thing. By the way, Proton eMas is handled by EV division Pro-Net, which also manages smart.

We already know quite a bit about the eMas 7 – it’s based on the Geely Galaxy E5, but Proton says the two companies worked together concurrently on the model..

Proton, Grab to offer e-hailing drivers rebates on Saga, 5% service discount for 2 years; campaign starts Nov 4

Proton has announced it is offering exclusive promos on its Saga sedan to Grab driver-partners. This comes after the national carmaker signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the ride-hailing service today.
Starting November 4, the company will introduce the “Saga Power Up for Grab Drivers” campaign, offering “priority access” to Saga ownership. The perks include exclusive incentives and deals such as cash rebates and a five per cent service discount, the latter valid for the first two years or 40,000 km.
Proton says there is no limit on the amount of Sagas each driver-partner buys during the promo period, provided they meet Grab Malaysia’s requirements. In addition, Grab will provide an additional RM500 to new drivers who purchase a Saga and activate their Grab Driver account.

The partnership is aimed at improving Proton’s standing in the Malaysian ride-hailing industry, which is currently dominated by the Saga’s chief rival, the Perodua Bezza. The company claims it recognises the “significant potential” in the industry for entry-level models like the Saga, the reliability and affordability of which is said to make it an “attractive choice for drivers.”
“Proton is thrilled to collaborate with Grab Malaysia to support the e-hailing industry by offering our iconic model, the Proton Saga, to Grab driver-partners. Its reliability and affordable maintenance costs are important factors for entrepreneurs who use cars as their pri..

Proton eMas 7 — SUV EV dalam versi R3 lebih sporty

Proton eMas 7 – R3 edition render by Theophilus Chin

Every new model from a national carmaker is greatly anticipated, and so it is with the Proton eMas 7. What if it was given a sportier aesthetic by the carmaker’ motorsport division R3? Here, visual rendering maestro Theophilus Chin has offered his take on what an R3-styled version of the electric SUV could be like.
In comparison with real-life R3 editions of Proton’s production models like the Saga R3 Limited Edition and the Iriz R3 Limited Edition, this R3-styled rendition of the eMas 7 is even more sparing with its use of yellow highlights over a black exterior.
For a start, this eMas 7 does without the yellow band over the middle of its front fascia as well as on the front lower lip, where the contrasting trim is located on the Saga and Iriz variants. The eMas 7 does, however feature the contrasting yellow strips at the corners of the front bumper.
Along its sides, Theo follows the prevailing R3 theme where the yellow contrast is applied to the sills, as well as the side mirror covers, while its alloy wheels continue to be of a two-tone finish.

At the rear, the bodywork of the eMas 7 is carried over, and has been given the R3 contrasting yellow highlights on the lower sections of its rear bumper, with an R3 badge located directly below the eMas 7 badge on the tailgate, with the Proton badging remaining in place in the centre.
As for the upcoming Proton eMas 7, the electric SUV has been confirmed to share the powertrain from the Galaxy E5, which is the single, fr..
