EON, already the largest Proton dealership group in Malaysia with no less than 10 outlets nationwide, is ready for the next big thing – the introduction of the very first national all-electric vehicle, the Proton eMas 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7).
The multi-brand powerhouse has already established a dedicated website for the upcoming eMas 7, where interested parties can register their interest of the electric SUV.
Moreover, the dealership group has also confirmed that work is well underway at its soon-to-be-opened Proton eMas showroom at EON Glenmarie, right next to its existing smart 3S centre. Once operational, it will join EON’s long line of automotive dealerships including Proton, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Audi, Volkswagen, Daihatsu and smart.
EON is also planning an exclusive sneak preview of the Proton eMas 7 towards the end of this month, where interested customers will be able to pre-book the hot new model. Doing that guarantees that the you will be among the first few to take delivery of Proton’s first EV soon after its launch.
The Proton eMas 7 is set to be launched later this year and is expected to offer the same powertrain as the Geely Galaxy E5. The E5 is offered with a single front motor producing 218 PS (160 kW) and 320 Nm of torque, which gets it from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. There are also two battery options – 49.52 kWh with a CLTC range of 440 km and 60.22 kWh with up to 530 km on a single charge.
It is currently undergoing extensive local testing prior to its launch, which includes revised suspension tuning for the Malaysian market, overseen by Proton’s hallowed ride and handling team. The C-segment electric SUV will also have a water wading depth of 400 mm specifically for our market, which is higher than that of the donor model.
The Proton eMas 7 is set to be on display at the paultan.org Auto Car Expo (ACE) 2024 show, which will take place over the weekend of October 26-27 at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC). There, the interior will be open and shown to the public for the very first time. Entry is free, so do come by. Or, if you’re already set on it, you can register your interest at EON’s dedicated website here.
