Proton eMas 7 Tour now in east coast states before making a stop at ACE 2024; Sabah, Sarawak next

Having covered Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis, the Proton eMas 7 Tour is now heading for the east coast states of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan. The aim is to cover a total of 2,000 km across Malaysia, showcasing the technology and talents of Proton’s first EV along the way.
Interestingly, the latest batch of shots posted on Proton e.MAS Cars’ Facebook show a new livery prominently featuring the Petronas Twin Towers on the front doors (previously it was ‘Hello’ in various languages), plus 19-inch wheels as opposed to 18s previously.
Proton says the eMas 7 Tour provides its engineers with the opportunity to further tune and refine the SUV’s ride and handling amidst Malaysian weather and road conditions. Throughout, the tour stops at charging stations, popular food spots and eMas dealerships, while a travelling host engages the public.
Once done with the east coast states, the Proton eMas 7 Tour will return to the Klang Valley where you’ll be able to see the car at the paultan.org ACE 2024 over the October 26-27 weekend at Setia City Convention Centre. Thereafter, the tour will head to the East Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak, culminating on November 12.
You can follow the tour on the Proton eMas website as well as official social media accounts – “Proton e.MAS Cars” for Facebook and Xiaohongshu, “@protonemasofficial” for TikTok and “@protone.mas7tour” for Instagram – for live updates on exact stop locations..

Proton eMas 7 – first look at interior reveals 15.4-inch 2.5K display, 16-speaker Wanos premium audio system

Ahead of the official arrival of the Proton eMas 7 (stylised e.MAS 7) as the national carmaker’s first production fully electric vehicle, the brand has revealed on its Instagram account a little more information on the upcoming model, this time offering a glimpse into the vehicle’s cabin.
The latest information officially released reveals that the electric SUV will feature a 15.4-inch central display of 2.5K resolution, which is identical in size to the screen found in the Geely Galaxy E5. This is accompanied by a 10.2-inch instrumentation display ahead of the driver, also as found in the Geely equivalent.
A separate post Instagram story posted to the same account also revealed that the audio system in the eMas 7 will be a 16-speaker Wanos system from Flyme Sound, and the premium audio system is claimed to offer ‘crystal clear sound’. In the China-market Galaxy E5, the top 16-speaker set includes headrest speakers.
The use of Flyme-branded equipment lines up with the Flyme Auto infotainment system that is used in the China-market Galaxy E5, and this has been supplied by Geely group smartphone maker Meizu, which has been designed to be as intuitive to use as a smartphone, Geely said of the interface.

Apple CarPlay officially arrives on Proton X70 facelift – watch step-by-step video on how to install via OTA

Proton has officially announced that Apple CarPlay is now available on the Proton X70 facelift, posting a video on Facebook on how to install the over-the-air (OTA) update.
Although the X70 facelift’s infotainment system is capable of wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay (AACP), the service wasn’t available at launch time as Proton had some certification work to complete. Earlier this month, an owner shared his phone and car screens in the paultan.org Automotive/Car Discussion FB group, showing the familiar Apple CarPlay home screen on the X70 FL’s new and enlarged 12.3-inch IHU screen.
Owners of models launched before the X70 FL such as the X90 SUV, S70 sedan and the recently introduced X50 RC, will unfortunately not be getting AACP. Full details on the X70 facelift here. For now, it seems that Android users will have to play the waiting game further.

Hot Wheels Proton Saga 1:64 diecast – white version announced for 2025 Case B box, debuts this weekend

Mattel Malaysia has announced the introduction of a new 1:64 Proton Saga scale model to its Hot Wheels die-cast collection, with the release, part of its 2025 Case B box, set to debut this weekend.
Collectors wanting to try their luck at being among the first to get the model can do so at the Hot Wheels Malaysia Case B carton unboxing event happening this October 11-13 at the LG2 Blue Concourse, Sunway Pyramid.
The new offering is the second mainline Hot Wheels Saga to come about, and features a white body colour compared to the inaugural version‘s red. However, the colour is the only difference, with previous details such as the ‘Saga’ logo graphic from the 1985 model on the rear door, the Hot Wheels logo on the front door and set of AeroDisc plastic wheels continuing to feature.

The collaboration between Hot Wheels and Proton to produce the first-generation Proton Saga as a 1:64 model was announced in December 2022 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Mattel Malaysia. The red Saga was first sold through the mainline 2024 Case B box that was distributed in October last year.
A limited edition version of the Saga also went on sale last April, featuring a blister card image designed by nine-year-old Saw Jane Harn from Penang, who won the Hot Wheels x Proton Kids Design Competition in 2023.
